What's On Your Mind

Amphitheather GatheringThe amphitheater boasts state-of-the art sound and theatrical lighting systems, as well as both bench seating and that ever-popular "lawn section".

Summer Programs are generally offered Fridays and Saturdays from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and consist of every genre from environmental programs, nature walks, star parties, campfire programs and sing-a-longs, to performing arts such as concerts and plays. School programs, such as the Eco Meet, are also conducted at the amphitheater during the school year.

The amphitheater's large stage and graceful tudor arches make this facility the perfect spot for Raystown Lake visitors to enjoy quality programs. There is a special room for performers to "warm up", "costume-up" or "gear up", as well as an audio-visual/mixing room that can accommodate many ttpes of programs from DVD, VHS, laptop, or a simple CD accompaniment to full big-band sound arranging.

Agencies who partner with the Corps of Engineers to bring you the great programs throughout the season are the Huntingdon County Arts Council, the Juniata College Raystown Field Station and the Pennsylvania Council of Churches.

If you possess a special talent and would like to be considered as one of the program presenters, or know of someone who would be a good inclusion in our program, contact Ranger Melissa Bean at 814-658-6812 direct or email at Melissa.J.Bean@usace.army.mil
