The General Project Goals of the
Threatened and Endangered Species Plan

The Raystown Lake Project plays an important role in the conservation and protection of species of special concern. Since the project construction in the early 70’s, interest in Raystown’s natural communities has been increasing. Before project construction, natural Shale Barrens were identified and inventories have documented important species found in these communities. During these inventories other significant findings occurred. Continued inventories are important to gain knowledge of the important species at Raystown Lake, and conserve and protect these resources for future generations.
