The Pennsylvania Mountain Service Corps, PMSC, is a local initiative of AmeriCorps. AmeriCorps is the national service movement engaging thousands of Americans of all ages and backgrounds in a domestic Peace Corps. Members serve in their own communities in the areas of education, environment, public safety, and human needs. Located in Southwest/Southcentral Pennsylvania the program covers a 12 county geographic area of over 10,000 square miles.

The Corps of Engineers at Raystown Lake through the Friends of Raystown Lake have sponsored eight members. Past work includes forestry, treatment and monitoring of invasive species, web page development, American Chestnut recovery work and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) development.
